Is CAA a separating tool on grounds of religion?
In
recent times, many people have been protesting against the CAA 2019. The
protests are such that they have now been used not only as a political weapon
but also as a tool for creating divide among Hindu and
Muslim citizens of the country. I HEREBY WISH TO CONVEY that the
act seeks to amend the definition of illegal immigrants for Hindu, Sikh, Parsi,
Buddhist and Christian immigrants from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh,
who have lived in India without documentation
They will be granted fast track Indian citizenship in six
years. So far 12 years of residence has been the standard eligibility
requirement for naturalization.
The legislation applies to those who
were “forced or compelled to seek shelter in India due to persecution on the
ground of religion”. It aims to protect such people from proceedings of illegal
migration. The cut-off date for citizenship is December 31, 2014 which means
the applicant should have entered India on or before that date. Indian
citizenship, under present law, is given either to those born in India or if
they have resided in the country for a minimum of 11 years. The Bill also
proposes to incorporate a sub-section (d) to Section 7, providing for
cancellation of Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) registration where the OCI
card-holder has violated any provision of the Citizenship Act or any other law
in force.
Even the Prime Minister Narender Modi in
his speech this Sunday said that the act is only for those who are currently outside
India and want Indian citizenship and not for those who are currently residing
in India. The act is mainly meant for providing citizenship and not for
snatching it from anyone.
Now let me come to the protest part. In my opinion, the people are
protesting against the exclusion of Muslims, alleging it to be against the
ethos of constitution also the protest is against the Act’s implementation in tier
areas. Most of them fear that the Act will cause rush of immigrants that may
alter their Demographic, linguistic and cultural uniqueness. Also most of them do
not know what CAB is. Recently, I came across a tweet on twitter by a person
protesting against CAB saying that we all should not book any cabs and have a
ride in it (referring to Ola and Uber cab service applications)
also when interviewed face to face most of the protesters do not have any
knowledge about CAB and CAA and are just
protesting .
My request to all citizens is to first gain some knowledge
about any issue or topic before protesting.
CAA is just an act meant to provide with the benefits of citizenship and
is of no harm to any person living inside India.
first of all the people are of very prestigious university are not fool who are protesting against it.
ReplyDeletemy point is how it harm the people: you know amit shah has said many time he will implement nrc and you know already that india is the country where there are many poor people resides and they don't have the document so what it will do who don't make up the nrc at that time CAA will help them on the basis of the religion.
remember we strong evidence to counter your every points on CAA.
firstly i personally have interviewed those so called students of prestigious university and sorry to say they do not know a word about CAA and NRC both.
DeleteWatch this videos , if you are not andbhakt you will understand it , poor muslim without document will be called as ghuspethiya and poor hindu without document will be called as sharanarthi and will given citizenship according to CAA. and also our constitution doesnot differentiate anybody on the basis of the religion even if any body is not the citizens of the india.
